The convenience & freedom of being able to hike as much as we wanted and then camp and start again in the morning was such an adventure in many awesome ways!! I loved all the flexibility we had living this life style. And Dug was AWESOME too, always available when we had questions! We ended up hiking 182 miles and found so many treasures all along the way! Some of our trip high lights were hiking to the summit of Mauna Kea, night snorkel with Manta Rays, state parks, endless lava hikes (all over the island), Tropical Botanical Gardens/ 4 mile Scenic Drive, kayaking and snorkeling Kealakekua Bay (we were surrounded by hundreds of dolphins), sunset by the Mauna Kea visitor center, HUGE waves on south shores, endless rainbows near Hilo, & night hikes at Volcano National Park. We saw so many turtles in unexpected places and even a Hawaiian monk seal and had so many beaches all to ourselves! Thanks Dug for everything, truly the trip of a lifetime!
His van was perfect for taking us around to see the beauty of the island. Comfortable space for simple living. Highly recommend this van.

I cooked just about every single day on the built in stove, and boiling water is fast enough to have tea and coffee every morning. The bed is comfortable, the van rides smooth and the big island was all ours because of it. Dug even offered to take us out on a snorkeling trip which was the cherry on the top. After hanging out with him and returning the vehicle, it felt like we were saying goodbye to family. This has to be the best van on the island bar none. Can’t wait to come back and do it again.
